Lifelong Wellness Application Paper

     
Write a paragraph on each of the following:


      1. What did you learn about “lifelong wellness” from taking this General Education class?  

 

            In taking the lifelong wellness class, I learned on how to do a different type of exercises that do not require you to use a machine and could be done at home. Also, learned that I would have much success/results of my workouts if I have a partner/instructor that would push me to my limits. Another thing I learn is how important it is to stretch before/after your workout so you don’t cause any injury to yourself.  As well, in taking this class it allowed me to relieve any stress that I have.

2. How would you apply this information to your life?  

 

            The manner I will apply this information is by asking the individual that I know, who are willing to come workout with me to the gym or look for a class at Vasa gym depending on my goals. In any physical activity that I do whether it is going to the gym or playing a physical sport I will do my best to stretch before and after so I do not cause any harm to myself. I will apply the different workout that I learned into a workout program.  

 

3. What is your intention to continue to practice what you have learned in your life and why?

 

            My intentions to continue to practice what I have learned in my life so I may live a health life. I have heard regular exercise can help in many factors in continuing living a healthier life. In a web article called “Exercise: 7 benefits of regular physical activity” by the Mayo Clinic Staff, they share 7 reasons why exercise is important. I will be only suggesting 6 of those 7 reasons. 1) Exercise controls weight 2) Exercise combats health conditions and diseases 3) Exercise improves mood 4) Exercise boosts energy 5) Exercise promotes better sleep 7) Exercise can be fun and social. I know as I continue to exercise the points that I shared will help live a health life.

4. General ideas for improving this course?

 

          Some suggestions that I would consider in how to improve the class is 1) depending on the weather, I would have a session outside. I believe most people do their workouts indoors but if they have a visual that it can be done outside they might enjoy doing exercise outdoors than indoors. 2) Have a printout or post in canvas a copy of the workout after class. So, students can have a visual of what they did in class and apply a specific exercise to their workout. 3) Incorporate, a time in class to have students ask questions about how to continue to exercise daily.
